"For all intents and purposes, Ocean State-based band Long Trees is Rafael Attias and Dan Wright. Neither is a stranger to the R.I. music scene what with credits ranging from Honeybunch to the ‘Mericans to the Bob Kendall Band. Drifting is the group’s debut longplayer. Checking in at a dozen tracks, the cosmic country spirit of yore is alive in songs of Drifting, a sort of alt country Gram Parsons-meets-Sweetheart of the Rodeo collision. The songs find a nice balance between numbers heavy on the string bending and those with a more leisurely and dreamy pace. It all wears well on the ears on this album where twang and psych are in sweet collusion."
